The goats are at the heart of a controversy over a video showing an elderly woman’s dogs barking and she says she wants them to stay put.
The woman posted the video on Facebook on Thursday night, saying she was in the bathroom and the dogs started barking.
“I thought, ‘Is this a joke?’ but then I looked outside and there were three dogs,” she said.
“They were so big, they were like elephants and they were barking so loudly.”
There were so many of them, they could have been a whole city block.
“So I took them outside and they just lay on the grass and the goats came and barked, but they stayed put.”
She said she decided to leave them outside, but the dogs continued to bark.
“My daughter said, ‘Oh, we don’t want them there,’ and I said, `Yeah, you don’t have to worry about them,’ and she said, ‘(You know I’m pregnant)’,” she said of her daughter.
“And I said ‘Well, then I’ll let you leave’,” she told ABC Radio Melbourne.
“Then I walked to the door and I walked back and there was the dog again and he barked so loudly that it made me cry.”
The woman said the dogs barked again when she got up to leave and she heard the elderly woman saying, “I’m so tired.”
“I looked out the window and there are dogs and goats,” she explained.
“It was very scary.
I said to my daughter, ‘You don’t need to worry, they’ll come out again.'”
The dog barking was coming from inside the house.
“The elderly woman has been contacted by the ABC, but has yet to make a comment.”
A lot of people have said they don’t like the dogs, they don.
And I’m just not buying it,” she told the ABC.”
What are they supposed to do?
I don’t think they’re meant to be there.
“Ms Lees said she felt her family was being discriminated against and has been making the situation worse by trying to calm down the dogs.”
All I can think is, what am I supposed to say?” she said in the video.”
You know what I mean?
‘What are you doing?’
‘What’s going on?’
‘Why are you yelling?’
‘Where’s the dog?’
“She said it was important for the public to know that animals were protected.”
We don’t live in a society where we can let people just walk away from their dogs,” Ms Lees explained.
Animal welfare expert Sarah McCartland said the video was disturbing and unnecessary.”
When it comes to dogs barking, it’s the same as any other animal,” she added.”
If you’re outside, don’t be frightened by the barking dogs.
That’s what they’re doing.
“She warned people to keep an eye out for signs of aggression from other dogs.
